Mastering Movement: The Key to Successfully Returning to Sport

Move to Perform

A structured return-to-sport program is essential for athletes who are returning from injury. The Move to Perform  approach helps evaluate and understand movement patterns before progressing load and intensity, which is critical prior to returning to running, cutting, and jumping.

This program is designed for athletes who:

  • Plateau in training or feel limited by their current physical abilities

  • Struggle with movement efficiency or neuromuscular control, affecting performance and consistency

  • Lack confidence in their movement quality or on-field performance

  • Need expert guidance to train smarter, progress safely, and perform at a higher level.

Benefits of Assessing and Understanding Movement Patterns

Evaluating movement patterns offers several important advantages for athletes returning to sport:

  • Injury Risk Reduction: Identifying inefficient or faulty movement patterns helps address underlying weaknesses and imbalances, reducing the risk of re-injury.

  • Improved Performance: Moving more efficiently supports better strength, speed, and overall athletic performance.

  • Individualized Programming: Movement assessments guide the development of targeted training programs tailored to each athlete’s specific needs.

  • Progress Monitoring: Ongoing assessments allow clinicians and coaches to track improvements and adjust the program appropriately.

  • Increased Confidence: Verifying proper movement quality helps athletes feel more confident and prepared as they transition back to sport.

Program Implementation

We support athletes of all ages through our Move to Perform Evaluation, personalized in-person training packages, and monthly online training plans built directly from each athlete’s test results. As athletes progress, we complete an Athlete Capacity Evaluation to ensure they are physically prepared to safely return to higher levels of training and competition.

Conclusion

Whether you’re returning from injury, striving to take your performance to the next level, or building confidence in how your body moves, Move to Perform delivers the structure, clarity, and expert support athletes need to perform at their best.
